# Comments and collaboration

> Leave comments on docs pages and collaborate with your team during review.

The Mintlify web editor supports inline comments, making it easy to give feedback on specific sections of a page during the review process.

## Adding a comment

1. Select the text you want to comment on.
2. Click the comment icon that appears in the toolbar.
3. Type your comment and press **Enter** to submit.

Comments are visible to all editors with access to the project. They appear as markers on the text and in a comments panel on the right side of the editor.

## Resolving comments

When a comment has been addressed, click **Resolve** to close the thread. Resolved comments are hidden from the active view but remain in the comment history.

### Reviewing before publish

Before publishing a page, check the comments panel to make sure all open threads have been resolved. Unresolved comments don't block publishing, but they're a signal that someone is still waiting on a response.

## Notifications

Mintlify sends email notifications when:

* Someone leaves a comment on a page you've edited.
* Someone replies to a thread you're part of.

Adjust notification preferences in your account settings if the volume is too high.

## Best practices

* Use comments for feedback during review, not for long-term notes. Resolve threads once the issue is addressed.
* If you need to leave a note for future editors (not just reviewers), add it as a code comment in the MDX source instead — those persist in the file.
